I thought about the All About Me Challenge #3 for while. I thought , what do I collect??? I used to collect bears, but I got rid of most those long time ago.
The only thing I truly collect is scrapbooking stuff. That’s it!! As I as working on the questions I listed below, the question How did you get started collecting?, my first thought was Tammi (mommy2boys). I honestly was not a scrapbooking freak until I bet Tammi. She has been truly inspiring, she has lead me to wonderful scrapbooking message boards, teases me with lots of fun scrapbooking “must have’s”, when she finds great deals she always thinks of me, she shares her layouts and awesome ideas. Tammi has truly helped me find my true style of scrapbooking.
The more I thought about my answer I thought, I need to tell her how much I appreciate her inspiring me but mostly for being an awesome friend. I am sure we will be life long buddies!!!
So Tammi, thank you for being an awesome friend, for always thinking of me, and I appreciate all you do for me!!!
Who has inspired you into scrapbooking or something you truly love to do?? Tell me about it!!! Most of all tell them about it!! Leave me a comment!

The second challenge I have been working on is the All About Me Challenge, putting together scrap layouts or journals that tell your audience (your kids, your husband, your friends) who you are! I have only posted 2 challenges so far, and I got these challenges off of scrapshare.com a few years ago!
Challenge 1: Your Timeline of your Life
Challenge 2: Favorite Color, why do you love it
Here is the new challenge for the All About Me.
Favorite Collections
What do you collect? Why do you collect it? How do you display your collection? How did you get started collecting? Which piece is your favorite and why? Where do you get the pieces for your collection? How does your family feel about your collection? If you don't collect "collectibles", how about CDs? DVDs? Books? Recipes? Quotes? They say that of you have 3 of something, you have a collection! Shoot some photos of your collections this week and do a page about them or journal about them!
Share with us about your collections!! I will ponder this challenge and get back with you.
I think I am working on a digital as we speak!

Memories
I had a great weekend! My house is clean, which is a great feeling. Understanding that clean means no dust, the floors are mopped, the bathtub and toilets are cleaned. But if you’re a mom of small children, you know that clean does not mean neat and everything in place. Because you know 15 minutes after I was finished cleaning the tent came out, the cars just flew right out of the toy box, the sleeping bag unfolded and landed right back in front of the TV, and the toothpaste is already in the sink!!! Wow, it doesn’t take long. But still a great feeling to know the house is truly clean!! I have decided my house will be messy for another 15 years at least. So hey, I am down with it, right!!
I haven’t shared with you the last 2 weeks of my Deck of Me Challenges. Here are the past 2 weeks. I do not have them done yet, hopefully this week I will finish them and post them.
Week 7: Shoes, there always a story to tell. (It makes me wish I had a picture of my Reebok dancers that I wore on the first day of school and never wore again because Matt Kelley made fun of them).
Week 8: Who or What do you miss!
I just read this challenge for week 8 and about 5 minutes before I read it, my mom emailed me this
“I just heard Rod Stewarts song that reminds me of you!! And I got really home sick for you when you were little!!”
It’s a Dolly Pardon song “Here I Go Again”. When I read this, I wanted to capture this moment forever. This is the kind of stuff I like to know about my mom and my childhood. This is why scrapbooks are so important. I do remember this song and dancing around to this song, but I didn’t know how much it meant to my mom. This is the stuff you need to capture in your scrapbooks. The next time you are working on a page, think about what you want your audience to remember. And remember to scrapbook things other then daily life events. Use whatever you want, even if it’s a page of journaling. Memories are priceless.
So mom, thank you for loving me and for awesome childhood memories. And thanks for helping me remember a great childhood memory. Oh and mom, I hope you have a picture of my shaking my booty to this song for my scrapbook page. Love ya forever no matter what!!
What’s something you remember from you childhood, or something you remember about your kids that you can tell them about?????? I challenge you to scrap it or journal it!!! And tell you children about it!

Gratitude
One of my favorite blogs I enjoy reading daily is Ali Edwards
http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/
Today she talks about Gratitude.
She also talks about being in a funk of being grumpy and little patience. We don’t get this way do we???? I will be the first one to say YES!!! If you’re a mother, if you work outside or inside your home, or if you have laundry to do you are probably grumpy once in awhile!
Anyway, she made a list of 5 things she was grateful for. She has inspired me to do the same. And I hope my list will inspire you to make a grateful list too. Put it in your scrapbooks, tape it to your computer, or put it in your wallet and look at it when your feeling a little down! Or make a new one every once in awhile, our gratitude can change day to day!!
Post your lists to the comments, I would love to see them! Here is mine.
Today I am Grateful For:
1. A home to live in.
2. A good man for a husband
3. And two absolutely wonderful boys
4. A good job that helps pay the bills
5. Blogs that inspire me and help me to find who I am, and know its okay to be me!

Do Not Be Discouraged
This passage was in my devotional this morning. I loved it, I want to memorize it. Because if we could always remember this, we would be better prepared for many life situations.
I needed to hear this this morning, I thought someone else might need to hear it as well!!!
Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Challenge #2
Before I give you another All About Me challenge, I hope your Timelines are finished. If they are, put them in your All About Me album or add it to your current scrapbook album.
All About Me Challenge - #2
Favorite color Do you have a favorite color? Why do you love it? Does it reflect your personality? Does your wardrobe reflect your favorite color? Your house? Your car? Can you think of a story that involves your favorite color? Design a layout that really shows off your favorite color!
My favorite color is RED. My favorite color became red when other people would tell me I looked pretty in RED. So of course I started wearing more RED. Anything to help your self esteem is a good thing. I love red cloths, I love red scrapbooking paper and embellishments, I do not own a red car and my house is also not red. I need to think about my layout design for this challenge.
My mom’s favorite color is Yellow. And I remember she did her room in Yellow one time and it was the most beautiful bedroom. You can tell that yellow really made her happy and her room was a happy place. It’s amazing how color can bring personality to a room or even your life. I challenge you to dig deep and figure out a color that really makes you happy and scrap it.
Do you have a good story about your favorite color, tell me about it! Remember this is good stuff that your kids will someday love to read about. It’s All About YOU!!!

Choices
"I can't do anything about yesterday and I don't know what tomorrow will bring, so that means today is the best day of my life."
From Stacy Julians blog, http://stacysbigpicture.typepad.com/
Wow, Amen to That!
Have you ever felt like just shaking a family member or friend for making such dumb choices??? I am sure I am not the only one. It really comes down to choices. But it seems like when you are caught up in the middle of the choice you don’t see it? Its easy from the side lines to say that was a stupid choice but until you are in that person’s shoes, you can’t judge them. It doesn’t make you love them any less, it actually makes you love them even more. Your heart breaks for them and you want to extend your hand but most of the time they are not willing to take it!!
Well, I challenge you to think about someone who really needs to be lifted up in prayer today or even this week. Our Pastor preached about prayer yesterday. All we can do is pray for them! I challenge you to pray with all your heart and might for that person in your life. Knowing that we can not change them, but we know God can! With Gods AMAZING power anything is possible. Give all you have this week and pray for them. I am going to be!
Post your comments, I would love to hear from you. I hope I have inspired you to expand your prayer life this week.

Life Is Too Short
Genesis 50:20
20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Sometimes when bad things happen, it is so hard to find the good in them. But we need to remember that God had a plan for us before we were even born. I pray if you know someone who is hurting today or has been hurting for a long time, please reach out your hand to them. Lend them your heart or even a shoulder to cry on and show them mercy and love. Sometimes this is all it takes to let someone into their broken heart. Let someone see God in you today!!
Isn’t forgiveness so hard to understand?? Is there something you are holding onto that God has already forgiven you for?? If so, extend your hands right now, give it to the Lord and never pick it back up again. All you have to do is ask God to forgive your sins and truly believe that he does!! And you have lifted off the heavy burden of the many sins you have carried with you! They are gone!! God has given you mercy and his grace. With this you will be free!!
Have a wonderful weekend, and make sure you tell your friends and family how much you love them. Life is too short!

Back To Work
Call me crazy but I was getting a little cabin fever over the past few days. I am ready to be out and about. However, I thought I was glad to be back at work but I really miss my boys now!! They are at the stage of fighting with each other, very badly, which drives mommy up the wall. I visited Lisa Bearnson’s blog http://lisabearnson.com/blog/
this morning and found the lyrics to this awesome song. Now I miss my boys even more right now. I have attached the words to the song below.
Keeping SheepI have a little flock of sheep
And they are mine to tend and keep.
And I must guard them every day
For little lambs, when left alone,
Will lose their way.
So many voices say to me,
A sheep fold is no place to be.
Your time in there is dull and slow,
And lambs leave very little room
For you to grow.
Chorus:
So if I ever start to stray,
Deceived by thought of green pastures,
Remind me, Lord, that keeping sheep
Will lead to happier ever-afters.
Will lead to happier ever-afters.
Oh, surety there will come a day
When all the lambs have left my side,
And I am free to roam about,
And go exploring other meadows,
Green and wide.
Yet something whispers in my heart
That when my sheep have left this pen
I'll long to stoke their little heads,
To draw them close to me
And have them young again.
Repeat Chorus
So while they still are in my care
I pray that I will clearly see
These little lambs within my fold
Are tender gifts the Master Shepherd
Has given me.
Wow, made you cry didn’t it????
I hope you liked my Deck of me challenge cards from week 1 and 2. I am working on my Deck of Me cover card, but I am not finished yet. I will show you those later!! You can click on those images and you can see a bigger image of those cards.
I am not a reader, I have probably only read 2 books all the way through in my whole life. Well, I ordered a book last week called “The Big Picture: Scrapbook your Life and a whole lot more” by Stacy Julian. Can I just say this book is awesome and I read it in 1 day. Me, who never reads, read this in 1 day. I couldn’t put it down. There are lots of pictures, which is good!! This is going to change my life. I am so inspired. I strongly suggest if you love scrapbooking, if your feeling overwhelmed due to all the photos that still need to get into scrapbooks, if you have overwhelming piles of scrapbooking projects then you need to get this book and read it!!!
The first thing I took away from this book is I am going to start my daily journal back up, I love going back and reading them to remember “everyday life” that my kids will one day enjoy reading. At Christmas time, we were at my mother-n-laws house and her brother Jeff found an old journal of their Aunt Ruthies. Jeff sat and read that to us for hours. It was so neat to hear about places, people, and life back then. How inspiring!! No need to sit down for hours to write out paragraghs of information. Stacy taught me to jot down ideas that inspire you, jot down funnies your kids say, jot down things you would want to remember or want someone else to know or remember about you. I started yesterday! I also jotted down a small list of things I want to start that I learned from this book. I might share my list later with you, that way you can hold me accountable. One thing on my list is to share a weekend get away with my close girls chicks. Stacy had a weekend get away with her sisters, mother, aunts and it was so inspiring to her. I did this one time with my sister, mother, and mother-n-law and it was so much fun. One thing on my list is to plan another get away with my girl chicks.
Life is so good, let’s enjoy every moment of it and the people in it!!!Happy Thursday!

Snowed In

What about this snow???? School is cancelled and I am home with my boys. I was hoping for a little more of “blizzard” like conditions but this will work!! Poor daddy had to go to work this morning. The good news is he will be home 1/2 day, they are closing at noon today.
Well, today is suppose to be another “All About Me” challenge but I left all my paperwork at work, so I will update you on that tomorrow. I hope your done with your Timelines. No one posted their timeline, if you get that finished, please post them.
A few days ago I linked you to a blog that is posting a weekly challenge of a “Deck of Me” challenge. I am taking the challenge. There are 52 weeks in a year and 52 cards in a deck. You will decorate your card according to the challenge listed. Here are the past 6 weeks that have been posted. You can click on the link in my original post to see card ideas.
Week 1: Something your proud of
Week 2: What is powerful to you
Week 3: Complete a sentence or phrase beginning with “I am”
Week 4: Symbol of Love
Week 5: Using ephemera (paper scraps from real life)
Week 6: Love, Love, Love
I worked on my first 2 weeks challenges this morning, since we are snowed in that worked out well. It did not take long at all and it was so much fun. Obviously we are 6 weeks behind the challenge, you can start fresh with week 6 and go back, or start with week 1 and work hard to catch up to current challenges. That is what I am choosing to do.
Here is my week 1 deck of me challenge card (Something I am proud of). It says Life. Like I had posted before, I have several people I am proud of. You can not see the back of the card. I wrote Jan 2007, Week 1, Something I am proud of. This way I know why I choose this layout for this weeks challenge. I hope I have inspired you to start on your “Deck of Me” challenge. You can do whatever you wish on these cards. Thats the fun part, you can paint them, you can add photos, you can add whatever you want!

Here is my week 2 deck of me challenge card (What is powerful to you). I am sorry for the scan quality. The card is lumpy and did not scan very well. I copied a page of the bible (Luke 23:26) The crucifixion. At the bottom there is a clear plate that says HOPE with ribbon tied behind it. I inked the sides to give it some depth. On the back again I wrote the challenge, week, and date.
I will post my cards as soon as I complete them. I hope you join me and post your card when you complete them. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.

TGIF
It’s Friday and it’s payday. It doesn’t get much better then that. Except today is also a scrapbooking workshop at Jennie’s. I can’t wait to dive into working on my albums tonight. I planned about 20-25 pages last night. My goal is to finish 2006 tonight. I hope I can accomplish that!!! I am excited to start 2007!
I also would love to get my title card of the “Deck of Me” done tonight and maybe even work on the Week 1 Challenge: Something you are proud of!
What are you proud of? What would you put on your card? That’s a hard one for me. I am very proud of my kids, they amaze me everyday, I am proud of how smart they are and I am proud of their Christian walk even at their young age. I am also proud of my husband, he is the best father, a great Christian roll model, and I am so proud of the things that he does for others and never asks for anything in return. I am also proud of my mom, even through so much adversity, she stands strong! She is so loving and caring for her family and others. I am very proud to call her my mom! And I am so proud of my brother, he has a big heart and a loving nature, he is a great dad, and has taken on so much responsibility as a young man and is doing a wonderful job. I am mostly proud of his loving heart that is bigger then most of us will ever know.
Happy weekend!

Deck Of Me
http://livelifecreateart.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Check out this awesome idea! I might have to adopt this idea and you all might have to share with me.
Once again, I need a digital camera!
It looks like http://embers.typepad.com/ posts an idea (focus) once a week! When you are done you have a Deck of Me. What an awesome mini book to pass onto your kids. Wouldn't you love to have something like about your mom or grandmother? I know I would!
Let me know if your interested in doing something like this together?? Post a comment!!!

I have something fun and exciting I want to tell you about, I am looking into more information.
In 1998 I became a Christian. Not just a Christian but I let Jesus into my heart and asked him to forgive all my sins. I knew that he had forgiven me. I should remember the exact date of when that happened. And I don't know if it was an exact date, I know in 1998 I made a choice but I truly believe I am still growing into a Christian. Its a journey, but one thing is for sure, your never alone on this journey! Thank God for his blessings on me!!
Last night at church, our pastor talked about being ready for company at our church (our church is growing!). I want to encourage you to ready Luke 15 today. It is 3 parables in 1 chapter; The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, and the Lost Son. I was once Lost! Pastor left us with a challenge: To open our minds to opportunities that God gives us. What if someone had not seized the opportunity to reach me? I bet each one of us is praying for a lost soul(s). I know I am! Never give up!! I am going to keep my eyes open for an opportunity and be obedient and have faith that God will lead me through that opportunity!! I challenge you to keep your eyes and hears open for an opportunity to witness to a lost soul!

Turning a Corner
The snow has finally stopped falling!! We ended up with about 6-7 inches! My husband got to break out his snow blower that has been patiently waiting in our shed for the past 2 winters. It was a Christmas gift 2 Christmas’s ago and he hasn’t had the change to us it yet. So he used it on the driveway, the road, the grass, and then found a few other houses to do the same. That’s just called playing in the snow as an adult if you ask me! If I had a digital camera I would post pictures of the snow blower, the kids enjoying the snow, and Matt loading the blower into his tiny truck (which was very entertaining) and I would even post a picture of him driving down the road with it in his truck. But, they are stuck in my 35mm camera at the moment.
I got $100.00 for my birthday from my dad, I am thinking seriously about purchasing a decent digital camera! Of course the $100.00 would only help with about ½ of the purchase, maybe it’s a start. If I could get a scrapbooking business up and running that might help!! But I need to find others needing my assistance!! I am still continuing to pray about that. And figure out where the Lord is leading me.
Okay now to my point of the day. I emailed a small number of friends/family my link to my new blog. My mother-n-law emails back “You will have to explain to me about this blog stuff. I have heard the term but not sure exactly what the purpose is??” I thought a lot about her comment last night and before going to sleep last night. I have one main purpose and 3 underlying purposes. My main purpose is to inspire others with the same passion I have for 3 very important areas of my life! My family, my faith, and my passion for scrapbooking.
How is your timeline coming along??? I am still working on mine, I might just share my timeline this week, maybe when I am closer to being finished. I would love for you to post your timeline to my blog. Below my post you will see where you can click on the word “Comment” and you post comments to my posts. I hope I hear from you and see some of your life timelines!!!!
This morning my devotional gave me this scripture and prayer I wanted to share with you! Turning a corner can be very hard!!!
Turning a Corner
Today's Scripture:
"I will bless the Lord who counsels me; he gives me wisdom in the night. He tells me what to do. I am always thinking of the Lord; and because he is near, I never need to stumble or fall.” (Psalm 16:7-8)
A Prayer for Today:
God, thank you for Your promised companionship. Give me strength to turn the corners of my life and to honor You in doing so. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
(Today's Word with Joel & Victoria)
I pray your listening to the counsel and wisdom he is giving you today!
I encourage you to share my blog with someone you think might need inspiring today!
Did you know you probably inspired someone today and didn’t even know it??? My (hopefully) soon to be sister-n-law just inspired me. She basically told me she thought I was a good mom and she felt like she could relate to me. Wow, maybe I have inspired her and I didn’t even know it?? If someone has inspired you today, give me a post and tell me about it!!

Go Colts

I got this picture emailed to me today.
This reminded me of a night I was putting my 6 year old to bed. We prayed for the Colts. In my prayer I mentioned Coach Dungy being an inspiration and a good Christian leader. After the prayer my son asked me how I knew Coach Dungy was a Christian. Wow, I wanted to make sure I answered this question correctly. I told him anyone can say they are a Chrisitan, but you have to be able to see Jesus in that persons actions to know if they are truly walking with the Lord. This picture reminded me of why I believe Coach Dungy is a Christian.
The caption in the email said, in the locker room after the game (SuperBowl game).

Going Out On A Limb
Do I even know what I am doing? Nope, probably not!!
But I feel truly inspired to start a blog to maybe reach out to those who are like me and we can help each other with our daily goals, daily life issues, and just ENJOYING LIVING!!
Its snowing where I live today, we already have about 3 inches of snow on the ground and several more inches to come. I love snow, and this is our first big snow of the year. Its February and our first snow, sounds odd doesn't it? Such a strange year!
My mom, who I talk to almost daily whether its my email or phone, inspired me to dig out some old information I collected off my favorite scrapbooking website, scrapshare.com. (I encourage you to go check that out if you have not already). Its about a personal scrapbook called "All About Me". The first item on the list was create a timeline of your life. It talked about including major events in your life for example your birth, school, leaving home, jobs, getting married, birth of your children, deaths, etc. I started working on my timeline, this has been so much fun. Thanks goodness for my mom, she has an awesome memory. I challenge you to work on a timeline of your life. This is a great conversation piece. Weither you use this for an All About Me scrapbook, a page in your current scrapbook, or just for fun. I guarantee you will take a trip down memory lane and have a great time doing it!
Well, there goes my first post. Happy reading!!
