I had a great weekend! My house is clean, which is a great feeling. Understanding that clean means no dust, the floors are mopped, the bathtub and toilets are cleaned. But if you’re a mom of small children, you know that clean does not mean neat and everything in place. Because you know 15 minutes after I was finished cleaning the tent came out, the cars just flew right out of the toy box, the sleeping bag unfolded and landed right back in front of the TV, and the toothpaste is already in the sink!!! Wow, it doesn’t take long. But still a great feeling to know the house is truly clean!! I have decided my house will be messy for another 15 years at least. So hey, I am down with it, right!!
I haven’t shared with you the last 2 weeks of my Deck of Me Challenges. Here are the past 2 weeks. I do not have them done yet, hopefully this week I will finish them and post them.
Week 7: Shoes, there always a story to tell. (It makes me wish I had a picture of my Reebok dancers that I wore on the first day of school and never wore again because Matt Kelley made fun of them).
Week 8: Who or What do you miss!
I just read this challenge for week 8 and about 5 minutes before I read it, my mom emailed me this
“I just heard Rod Stewarts song that reminds me of you!! And I got really home sick for you when you were little!!”
It’s a Dolly Pardon song “Here I Go Again”. When I read this, I wanted to capture this moment forever. This is the kind of stuff I like to know about my mom and my childhood. This is why scrapbooks are so important. I do remember this song and dancing around to this song, but I didn’t know how much it meant to my mom. This is the stuff you need to capture in your scrapbooks. The next time you are working on a page, think about what you want your audience to remember. And remember to scrapbook things other then daily life events. Use whatever you want, even if it’s a page of journaling. Memories are priceless.
So mom, thank you for loving me and for awesome childhood memories. And thanks for helping me remember a great childhood memory. Oh and mom, I hope you have a picture of my shaking my booty to this song for my scrapbook page. Love ya forever no matter what!!
What’s something you remember from you childhood, or something you remember about your kids that you can tell them about?????? I challenge you to scrap it or journal it!!! And tell you children about it!

Mom, I remember that now, but I had forgotten.
We need to sit down and work on some pages. Oh the memories, I never want to forget!!!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! :) It made my day! Something little remembered from my childhood that I don't want to forget...
I was very lucky to have grown up in a family where there was no swearing and one of my Dad's sayings whenever he would get discouraged with something was, "suck-egg-duck", sounds strange, but if you knew how soft spoken my Dad was/is it would be hilarious. Now whenever something happens that I'm frustrated with, this saying runs through my mind and I think of my Dad and somehow I can get above it with a lighter heart.
Have a great day!
